Beyond Words - The First Limited Edition Book by Abandoned Yorkshire

When you start any big project for the first time, you also try and imagine the hurdles that go with the journey and reaching the end. i thought I had thought of all the possibilities…….

Little did I know, the Universe was feeling bored. What I imagined were slight delivery delays, communication issues with the publishers being in Hong Kong, my full time job slowing me down and the work/life/project balance being a little off.

What I actually got, was Covid, global lockdown, shipping lanes being blocked, Brexit red tape, shipping costs increasing ten-fold, going on furlough, running out of funds, new custom charges at both ends, storage costs. Did I mention Godzilla attacking the port? No? Well that’s about the only thing missing from all this!

One thing I will learn next time though is this - Imagine problems on a global scale and not a local one!

The book is put together beautifully and the attention to detail is excellent. Would I use Permanent Printed again? Yes, very much so. The vast majority of the issues were global ones and the others were down to me and the fact I had not navigated these waters before.

Now that the books are here and ready to send out, I must press on as there is a large amount of prints in production and an exhibition to plan!

There is also an exciting new chapter in the AYE artwork department and we have an investor onboard to push things globally. We are also developing one off, entirely unique pieces, developed using AI and my own work. I may call it AI AYE (eye eye) yet…….. :) Check a preview of that out here
