Abandoned Yorkshire Limited First Edition Book

Well it’s been a long time coming…… and I have toyed with the idea since it was first requested on the page. Back then, there were 2 of us running the page and going out on adventures and although it was something we wanted to do, at the time we were too busy working and exploring to entertain the idea properly.
Aaron left to settle in New Zealand with his young family and the page was too big to let go of - we have the best fans who are eager to see the new locations, always support the page and understand when we can’t give locations away.

Since 2016 things got a bit crazy. I decided to start going out on my own and continuing the AY story. This was both thrilling and scary at the same time! Much like the thrill of scaring yourself by watching a horror film late at night on your own in the house, the anxiousness involved in approaching a place on your own in the early hours, having to make a climb yourself, sitting in the loneliness of a place waiting for the sun to come up and constantly hearing things as you had no one else there to tell you it was in your mind, was and still is quite the buzz. Not without it’s dangers though.

Aside from this I was asked to do an exhibition at Left Bank Leeds and the publicity generated around it was astounding, resulting in over 1500 people visiting in just 3 nights - Left Bank’s biggest audience to date! With HUGE prints on sale, it was a real pleasure to see some of my images go to good homes.

This year has been a slow one as I got used to a new job with longer hours and a long commute to work meaning less hours to go out and explore. This has given me plenty of time to yearn for exploring again and also to plan the book. AFter extensive research and much back and forth with ideas, I have decided to launch a Kickstarter campaign and crowd fund the book. This just means I can make 500 limited copies with four times as many pages, the book at half the price and offer fine art prints as well. Four times as much history for half the price means I can hopefully get one on each of your coffee tables/bookshelves!
